Oitavo álbum de inéditas do Skank (em foto de Weber Pádua), Estandarte chega às lojas a partir de quarta-feira, 1º de outubro de 2008, pela Sony BMG. Produzido por Dudu Marote, o CD apresenta - entre 12 inéditas - quatro parcerias do vocalista e guitarrista do grupo, Samuel Rosa, com Nando Reis. Ainda Gosto Dela (faixa eleita a música de trabalho do disco e já escalada para a trilha sonora da nova novela das 18h da Rede Globo, Negócio da China), Pára-Raio, Renascença e Sutilmente são as quatro faixas que levam a assinatura de Nando. Já o guitarrista César Maurício, parceiro mais recente de Samuel, é co-autor de duas músicas, Assim sem Fim e Noites de um Verão Qualquer. Por sua vez, Chico Amaral emplacou em Estandarte nada menos do que seis colaborações com o onipresente Samuel Rosa. Entre as seis, figuram Chão, Escravo, Canção Áspera e Notícias do Submundo. Décimo título da discografia do Skank (se contabilizada a única coletânea do grupo, Radiola, editada em 2004 com gravações inéditas), Estandarte foi mixado por Michael Fossenkemper e masterizado por Bob Ludwig, em Nova York (EUA) e em Portland (EUA), respectivamente. Segundo declarações do empresário da banda, Fernando Furtado, o álbum causa intencional ruptura na trilogia britânica iniciada pelo quarteto no belo Maquinarama (2000), bem desenvolvida em Cosmotrom (2003) e finalizada - com um repertório de menor inspiração - em Carrossel (2006).
